Alaska Dip Nets

Just a few quick questions.

Has anyone ever used one of those big dip nets the guy sells on the side of the road in Sterling?

How do they work?

Does anyone know about what they cost?

I have seen them sitting there many times on the way to Kenai but I never stop to talk with the guy. Any input would be appreciated.
