Question Ice Fishing for Big Pike

Can anyone tell me where you can find some big pike around the Anchorage / MatSu area? And what is the best bait to use while ice fishing?

I would really love to give this a try.

Default Redshirt Lake is a Favorite

Redshirt lake is a favorite big pike lake in Alaska. You can reach it via snowmachines in the winter and I have seen many large northern pike that have been caught there. I am not sure what the best bait is but you may try large shrimp or small herring.

I hope this helps out some.

large herring cut in two-3 pieces, or large rainbow colored crocodiles as a jig
